Bee Urban, Kennington Park
Volunteer gardener: Students attend volunteer gardening sessions in the local park alongside other volunteers. They help with a wide range of gardening tasks such as collecting wood chips, organising the compost heaps and bagging up compost to be used on Bee. Urban's grounds.
Carpenter/ woodwork skills: Students attend twice weekly learning skills in carpentry and woodwork. They learn how to use a range of tools to make various items such as bee frames, bird boxes, bird feeders, plant markers, planters, benches, tables and seating for the café garden area at college. They work on a range of projects following briefs and using health and safety guidelines throughout.
